ionic bond- a chemical bond between two ions with opposite charges. Ionic bonding is between a metal and non metal to form a ionic compound. eg.when Sodium (metal) and Chlorine (non-metal) are bonded together they form Sodium Chloride (NaCl) which is the edible salt used in food and cooking.
